In the upcoming film ‘Young Adult’, Golden Globe nominated Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a writer of teen literature who returns to her small hometown to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms an unusual bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt), who hasn’t quite gotten over high school either.
Reuniting the ‘Juno’ team of director Jason Reitman and writer Diablo Cody, the accompanying ‘Young Adult: Music From The Motion Picture’ albums on Rhino. The bulk of the soundtrack features leading names of 90s alternative music including Teenage Fanclub, whose track ‘The Concept’ featuring prominently in the film, as well others including The Replacements, The Lemonheads and Dinosaur Jr.
The album is completed with five minimalist instrumental versions of some of the era’s biggest alternative rock songs performed by Mateo Messina.
