The Kaiser Chiefs frontman gets straight to the point on why he’s appearing on the talent show
Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has explained that he’s appearing on the BBC1 show The Voice as a coach to “sell more records”.
The 35-year-old makes his debut on the talent show alongside fellow judges Tom Jones, will.i.am and Kylie Minogue.
Wilson told NME, “I love my band and I want our new record to get noticed. I know that everyone is going, ‘He thinks he’s going to sell more records and more tickets.’ And that is why I’m doing it. I’m not an idiot.”
The Leeds band are set to release their fifth studio album ‘Education, Education, Education & War’ on 31st March. It will be their first album with new drummer Vijay Mistry, following former drummer and songwriter Nick Hodgson’s departure in 2012.
